This whole adventure began four years ago with 20 trees tapped and a gallon of syrup made on a flat pan on our porch. The following summer Chris had the crazy idea to build a sugar shack. It was the best thing he could have ever done!
In the first year with the sugar shack four of our good friends decided to join us in our maple adventure which has added a ton of laughter and great memories.
With our first evaporator we had a few hundred trees tapped and we made 28 gallons of syrup! Each year we have expanded and made improvements. The next year we purchased a bigger evaporator, tapped 400 trees and made about 85 gallons of syrup.
In 2021 we had around 700 trees tapped and made about 90 gallons of syrup.
This coming year we have more improvements and expansions planned from an addition to our sugar shack, larger evaporator and more trees tapped to adding more products for sale. Stay tuned, more fun to be had in 2022!
